Install in 4 steps
Extract the zip
Extract the zip you downloaded. There is no setup program to run.
Copy the plug-in folder
Copy the folder MicroFret.vst3 into
C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3(or your own VST3 folder, if you set one in your host). If Windows asks for permission, allow it: that folder needs it.Rescan in Ableton Live
In Ableton Live: Settings, Plug-Ins, Rescan. MicroFret appears under Plug-Ins, VST3.
Add it to a guitar track
Add MicroFret as an effect on an audio track that carries your clean guitar signal.
Your first five minutes
- Open the tuner (TUNER) and tune your guitar.
- Pick Rast and a key.
- Play, and watch the display.
- Hover any control for a tip.
To update, close your host and replace the old folder with the new one. To remove it, delete the folder: your presets stay in %APPDATA%\MicroFret.
After the 14 days
Retuning stops and your guitar passes through unchanged until you enter a licence key. Buy a licence at any time, even during the trial.
