MicroFret - End-User Licence Agreement Version 2, November 2026, from Ibrahim Sinjarian ("the Author"). The number and date of this agreement are its own and do not follow the version of the Software. By installing or using MicroFret Guitar, MicroFret Bass or both ("the Software") you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use it. 1. What you are getting The Software is licensed to you, not sold. The Author keeps all rights in it that are not given to you here. MicroFret is sold as two products: MicroFret Guitar and MicroFret Bass, and as a bundle of both. Each product has its own licence key and its own free trial. A MicroFret Guitar key unlocks MicroFret Guitar, a MicroFret Bass key unlocks MicroFret Bass, and a bundle key unlocks both. These terms apply to each product you install or buy. 2. Free trial You may use each product, with every feature, for 14 days from the first time you run that product, to decide whether to buy. Trying one product does not use up the trial of the other. When the trial ends the Software stops retuning (your audio passes through unchanged) until you enter a licence key. Do not try to reset, extend or get around the trial. 3. Buying a licence, and no refunds Licences are sold on the Author's website, and payment is handled by Wayl. Your licence key is delivered immediately after payment, on screen and by email. Because you can try every feature free for 14 days before buying, all sales are final and licence keys cannot be returned or refunded. If you buy from the European Union, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you are asked before payment to agree that delivery starts immediately and that you lose your right of withdrawal; by agreeing, you accept that. Nothing in this section takes away any right that the law of your country gives you and that cannot be excluded. 4. Your licence When you buy a licence (for MicroFret Guitar, for MicroFret Bass, or the bundle) you get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use the Software on your own computers, for yourself, for any music or audio work, including paid work. The licence is per person: you may use it on as many of your own computers as you need (for example a studio computer and a laptop), but only you may use it. A studio, school or company with several users needs one licence for each person who uses it. The Software checks your licence key on your own computer and never needs an internet connection. 5. What you may not do You may not: - copy, share, resell, rent, lend, sublicense or give away the Software or your licence key (the key belongs to you alone; do not post it or pass it on); - sell or share a copy of the Software or a key, or help anyone use it without paying; - remove or change copyright notices or licence checks; - reverse engineer, decompile or take the Software apart, except where the law says you may despite this clause. You may make backup copies for your own use. Music, recordings and presets you make with the Software are yours. 6. Third-party parts Small parts of MicroFret come from other people's open licences; they are listed in THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt and stay under their own licences. Amp simulators or other plug-ins you load into MicroFret are separate products with their own licences, which you must have. 7. Updates The Author may release updates. A licence covers the version you bought and its free updates, unless the Author says otherwise when you buy. 8. No warranty The Software is provided "as is", without any promise that it is error-free, that it will work with every computer, host program or plug-in, or that it will suit your purpose. Audio software can behave unexpectedly: save your work often and keep the volume at a safe level. This does not take away any rights you have by law that cannot be waived. 9. Limit of liability To the most the law allows, the Author is not liable for lost data, lost work, lost income, damage to equipment or hearing, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of the Software. The Author's total liability for any claim is limited to the price you paid for the licence. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited (for example for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud). 10. Ending the licence The Author may end your licence if you materially break these terms, by telling you so in writing (an email is enough). If the breach can be put right, for example a key used by someone else that you can stop sharing, the licence ends only if you have not put it right within 14 days of that notice. If it cannot be put right, for example a key posted publicly or a copy sold on, the Author may end it at once by the notice. The licence does not end automatically. When it ends you must stop using the Software and delete your copies. You can end it yourself at any time by deleting the Software. Sections 5, 6, 8, 9 and 11 continue after the licence ends. 11. General These terms are the whole agreement about the Software. If a part of them is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. The Author may change these terms for new versions; the terms in force when you got your version apply to it. These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Iraq, and the courts of Iraq decide disputes, unless the law of your own country gives you the right to use your local courts.
